This tidbit is outside of my boundaries, but news is slow these days, so I'll pass along news that the city has just released its solicitation looking for a master developer for 50-plus acres in Hill East, the area along the Anacostia River near RFK and Barney Circle. Responses are due by August 1. It's expected that the redevelopment would take a decade. You can find out lots more about the solicitation and the area itself at
hilleastwaterfrontdc.com. There's also a press release, but it's not online yet. Here's the
Post's DC Wire blog about the plans.
